Dan Walsh in his new book, “
The Discovery” published by Revell gives us a romantic action adventure story.
From the Back Cover: An Engrossing Story of Family Secrets and a Love for the Ages
When aspiring writer Michael Warner inherits his grandfather’s venerable Charleston estate, he settles in to write his first novel. But within the confines of the stately home, he discovers an unpublished manuscript that his grandfather, a literary giant whose novels sold in the millions, had kept hidden from everyone–but which he clearly intended Michael to find. As he delves deep into the exciting tale about spies and sabotage, Michael discovers something that has the power to change not only his future but his past as well.
Laced with suspense and intrigue, The Discovery is a richly woven novel that explores the incredible sacrifices that must be made to forge the love of a lifetime. Author Dan Walsh delivers yet another unique and heartfelt story that will stick with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
“The Discovery” is a page turner! Dan Walsh gives us two stories. One is in the present and the other is a WWII adventure. To understand the one you need the other. “The Discovery” is about love and what we do to keep it. It is also a book about secrets and what they do to our lives unless opened to the sunlight. Dan Walsh has given us characters that live and breathe, that have faults just like us, and are able to deal with them.
Dan Walsh gets better with each book he writes so that means that this is his best book yet. Mr. Walsh has provided us a book that both the men and women are going to enjoy. Everyone should read this book and then leave it handy to read it again to capture all the nuances that were missed the first read through because of the need to find out what happens next. This book is a page turning classic. I recommend it highly! I am looking forward to Mr. Walsh’s next book.

Book Review: “Covenant of War” By Cliff Graham

Cliff Graham in his new book, “
Covenant of War” Book Two in the Lion of War series published by Zondervan takes us back into the lives of King David’s Mighty Men.
From the back cover: The fate of the nation rests on King David’s mighty men. 991B.C.
After years of crippling civil war, the northern tribes ask David, King of Judah, to make a covenant of protection with them.
But near the Great Sea, an enormous force of the hated Philistines mobilizes to crush the Israelites while they are still at their weakest.
Fighting amongst themselves has left the Hebrew armies scattered, drought is ravaging the land, and there are rumors of treachery within David’s inner circle.
Eleazar son of Dodai yearns to live peacefully, but his deadly skills are desperately needed. In the sun-drenched valleys and dark forests of the hill country, Eleazar will make his stand, and the fate of a nation rests on the power of their God and the courage of a band of warriors known as the Mighty Men.
“Covenant of War” is the second book in the Lion of War series–the intense, gritty, and stylistic portrayal of the Mighty Men of Israel, a ragtag band of warriors who came to King David in his most desperate hour and fought with him while he claimed the throne he was destined to fill. Their legendary deeds are recorded in 2 Samuel 23 and 1 Chronicles 11.
Buckle up for a wild ride as we travel to a nation that has been split in two with David only king of the Southern Kingdom. Now the Northern Kingdom wants to come under David’s authority and the nation will be whole once more. As this is happening the Philistines attack and David must defend with his Mighty Men. This is a book of war with excellent battle scenes as written by a former soldier. Mr. Graham is brilliant in defining his characters and the more defined they are the more we like them and the more we like them the more we identify with what they are doing. Once the action gets going Mr. Graham revs up the thriller quotient considerably which will have you reading and flipping pages as fast as you can. Don’t start this book late at night because it will be very difficult to put it down or stop thinking about it. I recommend this book highly and am greatly looking forward to the next book in the series.
