Book Review: "Behemoth" By Jonathan C. Leicht

Jonathan C. Leicht in his new book, “Behemoth” published by WestBow Press takes us to modern-day Kenya on a dinosaur hunt.

From the Back Cover:   Jim Thompson, chief game warden of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, has a major problem. Three of his prized elephants have been gored to death in the past month. The only clues left are mysterious tracks reportedly belong to a creature long thought extinct. He is not alone. On the other side of the world, Professor Stephen Gregory is embarking on an adventure of his own. Forced to resign over his unpopular scientific beliefs, this once-distinguished professor gets the chance of a lifetime when he is offered an expedition into the heart of Africa in search of a creature that could prove his theories true once and for all.

When I was young I read everything that Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote.  He had the ability to take us to strange places and make them real for us.  Tarzan’s jungle is located on a high plateau that is very difficult to get to and Mr. Burroughs created other places  that held great danger like, “The Land That Time Forgot”.  Having said this welcome to the world of Jonathan Leicht.  He does in “Behemoth” what Mr. Burroughs used to do, take us to a place of great danger with creatures that we do not know.  Mr. Leicht is a Creation scientist and he gives a viewpoint of Creationism.  To be fair he also provides a viewpoint of evolution.  It is up to the reader to decide which side they will come down upon.  “Behemoth” is a very exciting adventure story that has the reader running around in the wilds of Kenya looking for a possible living dinosaur.  This is worth the read and you will be talking about it long after you finish.
