Liam Roberts has a new book, “The Y Factor” published by Realms and it is a page turner so be prepared to give up some sleep because, once you start, you won’t want to put it down.

What makes a thriller a thriller?  Well, to start with, the stars of the book must be in deadly danger from the beginning and “The Y Factor” does that with flying colors.  Computer analyst Eric Colburn and his geneticist girlfriend Alana McKinsey are not spies though the book is paced similar to a spy story.  The bad guys feel they know too much and want to kill them but our heroes feel they know too little and do not understand why someone wants them killed.  Their adventure takes them in a battle for their lives around the world from Atlanta, Georgia to: Delhi, India; Tokyo, Japan; Cairo, Egypt; and Karachi, Pakistan.

“The Y Factor” is filled with fascinating, up-to-the-minute information about genetic research that cleverly melds fact with fiction so that all of it seems real.  What Mr. Roberts does with this information and how it affects his protagonists is what makes the story so exciting.

I give “The Y Factor” five stars and look forward to the next book by Liam Roberts
