Wayne Zurl in his new book, “Pigeon River Blues” a Book in the Sam Jenkins Mystery series published by Iconic Publishing gives us another adventure with Sam Jenkins.
From the back cover: When country singer C. J. Profitt returns home to sing on stage in Dollywood, Mayor Ronnie Shields asks Sam to babysit. It is anything but a simple job as C. J. can be her own worst enemy.
But she isn’t the only one as the Coalition for American Family Values isn’t shy about letting her know she isn’t welcome.
Sam breaks in John Gallagher, an old friend and new Police Operations Aide, on the job to help C. J. keep her Dollywood date and everyone starts learning a new language.
The past has a way of resurfacing in the present and enemies can come from very unexpected places.
When my wife and I were relocating from New York to California we drove across America and one of the States we fell in love with was Tennessee and one of the cities was Gatlinsberg. I mention all of this because a lot of the events in the book take place near and around there which made it very pleasant, at least for me. I have always liked the small city police chief stories that used to be quite popular but seem to have been cast aside. Mr. Zurl has rescued this genre, given us new stories and a new chief Sam Jenkins. This is quite a plot that Mr. Zurl has given us as protecting singer C.J. Profitt is not going to be easy. However if it were easy then we probably would not read this story. Sam Jenkins is a wonderful character that will keep you entertained as you enjoy this new adventure. I am looking forward to more Sam Jenkins stories.

Hi Vic,
Thanks for inviting me to your blog and taking the time to read and reveiw PIGEON RIVER BLUES. If you’re ever in Gatlinburg again, drive across the national park to the “peaceful side of the Smokies” and stop at Prospect PD to meet Sam Jenkins and all the girls & boys.
Best wishes,
Wayne
