Sally Ann Melia in her new book, “hunter book coverHunter” Book Two in the Guy Erma and the Son of Empire series published by Dickson House continues the adventure with Guy Erma.

From the back cover:  How dare you? How dare you hold me captive?

13-year-old Teodor was taken by the vicious Battle Borgs of Dome and now he must fight to survive.

13-year-old Guy Erma has been offered a chance to fight for his place in the Dome Elite. Only who will be his opponent? Will he face a Battle Borg of Dome?

Once they were heroes. These men died as heroes in battle. Now they have been reincarnated as the fearsome vanguard of the Dome Elite. They are the Battle Borgs of Dome

Two boys as different as any two boys might be. They face the same enemy, the same danger, the same fear – dare they trust each other?

“Hunter” picks up where book one, “Kidnap” left off. Both Teodor and Guy are going to do battle in the arena against the Dome Elite. This is an exciting story! This is science fiction like it used to be. Teodor is from the upper class, Guy is from the lower class. They are forced together and not only have to figure out how to get along but to save the galaxy as well. There is plenty of action and suspense to keep you interested. And the good news is that “Hunter” is only part two. There is a great deal more story to go. Something to really look forward to. I recommend this book.

Chris Patchell in her new book, “Deadly Lies book coverDeadly Lies” published by Chris Patchell introduces us to Jill Shannon.

From the back cover:  As a teenager, Jill Shannon fell victim to her stepfather’s cruel abuse. Now, as an adult, Jill’s made it-she has a successful career and a solid, if not static, marriage to Detective Alex Shannon. Together they live out what seems to be a perfect life in Seattle.

The vow she made as a teenager to never again be a victim lies dormant-until one day a reporter lures her to his hotel room under the pretense of an interview-and suddenly it all comes rushing back.

Jill seeks revenge on the reporter, triggering a series of events that leads Jill down a wormhole of retribution, forcing her to spin an ever-widening web of lies.

Meanwhile, Alex is on the case of a series of murders that began as cyber relationships. There seems to be a familiar fingerprint on these crimes, but Alex refuses to believe that the murderer could be so close to him.

For those who couldn’t put down “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” comes a thrilling ride a la “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” where husband and wife stand on opposite sides of a divide created by lies and rooted in a dark and deadly past.

Jill Shannon, when she was a teen, was victimized by her stepfather. She made a vow that this would never happen again. However a reporter, after drugging her, does make her a victim. And it is through him that we discover a whole nest that is just like him. This is a fast-paced, very exciting story. Jill and her husband, Alex, are very well drawn and have great depth that we can relate to even when we totally disagree with their course of actions. Are they totally likeable? Well who is? This is definitely an intriguing story that will have you muttering “oh, no” as you are reading as fast as you can to get to the next page.  On top of everything the ending will surprise you.
