Clark Rich Burbidge in his new book, “The Cavern Of Promise book coverThe Cavern Of Promise” Book Three in Giants in the Land series published by Deep River Books gives us another adventure in the life of Thomas and the village he lives in.

From the back cover: Thomas and his giant companion have disappeared.

At the mercy of the evil king of Westland, in great peril, and with no hope for escape, Thomas faces an impossible test for survival. Book Three caps this award-winning trilogy with a danger-ridden triple quest: save Thomas, redeem a lost people, and reverse the land’s painful slide toward destruction

Can help be found in a mythical cave at the far edge of the world? Whispered legends speak of a ferocious tribe, fearsome obstacles, and fabled treasure. Join Thomas and his companions under an uneasy truce, risking all to seek the source of redemption—the Cavern of Promise—in a journey that could bring deliverance . . . or doom.

The conclusion of the Giants in the Land Trilogy follows Thomas as a much older man and respected Forest Ward. He and his Giant friends are not only missing from the Village but have been captured by the evil king of Westland. To save their lives and those of the Village they go on a quest. We all have “Giants” on our lives. Our parents certainly count as “Giants”. Certain teachers and coaches fill that role in our lives as well. As we grow older at some point we become the “Giant” in someone elses life. In “The Cavern Of Promise” we see Thomas in the role of “Giant” as he sets out on a quest that will either save The Land or bring destruction. “The Cavern Of Promise” shows how to become giants in our own right. The way we live, the way we respond to difficulties and the way we interact with others are just some of the ways we become “Giants”. I believe Mr. Burbidge, in The Giants in the Land Trilogy, has succeeded in showing us how to find hope and faith amidst sudden changes in our lives. I recommend this book not only for our teens but for ourselves and our friends and family as well.
