Colleen Coble in her new book “A Heart’s Promise book coverA Heart’s Promise” Book Five in the Journey Of The Heart series published by Thomas Nelson continues the story with Emmie Croftner.

From the back cover:  Emmie makes a promise to her friend that, if fulfilled, could mean the end to her dreams of a future with Isaac.

Emmie Croftner let Isaac Liddle go to avoid telling him about her past. But Isaac remains determined to win Emmie’s heart and hand. Though Emmie resolves to keep her heart in check, it hurts when she sees that another woman has set her bonnet for Isaac.

Then Emmie’s dear friend extracts a costly promise: if anything happens to her in childbirth, Emmie will marry her widower and raise the baby herself. And it seems Emmie may have to fulfill that promise. But can she live happily without Isaac?

Ms. Coble is an amazing writer. How she thinks of all these intricate plots is beyond me but not only does she do it she also gives us interesting characters to spend time with as well. Emmie is a widow and she is pregnant however she doesn’t want Isaac to know any of this. So she agrees to marry her friend’s husband now that her friend has died in childbirth. Isaac has no idea of what is going on all he knows is that he loves Emmie and would like to marry her. Emmie and Isaac are such a wonderful characters and we get so emotionally involved with them and we want them to get together and we want them to succeed. There is a lot going on in these ninety-seven pages that will keep you super interested. The only bad thing is we have to wait until the next book for everything to be resolved. Rest assured I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.
