From the back cover: Emmie’s hope for a life with Isaac is overshadowed by a tragic loss at Fort Phil Kearny.
Isaac Liddle is keen to marry Emmie, and she knows she shouldn’t hide her pregnancy from him any longer. But before she can tell him her secret, a widower friend asks the impossible of Emmie: Will she honor her promise to his dead wife by marrying him to care for the orphaned baby?
With the Sioux Wars threatening outside the fort, Emmie’s solemn vow threatens her happiness from within. Will she honor a promise sure to break her heart—and Isaac’s? Or is there another way to find a home for her heart?
This is it! This is what the story-line has been building up to these previous two books. You can read this book before you read the other two however I would recommend that you read the others first so as not to deprive yourself of this wonderful plot. Emmie is in love with Isaac and he is in love with her. However Emmie is a widow and she is pregnant however she doesn’t want Isaac to know any of this though she won’t be able to hide it much longer. So she agrees to marry her friend’s husband now that her friend has died in childbirth. Isaac has no idea of what is going on all he knows is that he loves Emmie and would like to marry her. Emmie and Isaac are such a wonderful characters and we get so emotionally involved with them and we want them to get together and we want them to succeed. There is a lot going on in these ninety-seven pages that will keep you super interested. As I said it all comes together here and all the plot-lines are resolved. I believe you will not be disappointed.
