“Face Of Betrayal” Book One in The Triple Threat series written by Lis Wiehl with April Henry has been released in audiobook format by Oasis Audio and this is a winner.  There is a reason why children love to hear stories read to them by their parents and they enjoy the reading even more when the parent uses voices to identify the characters; it makes the reading much more enjoyable.  And while we may grow taller we never outgrow the love of having stories told to us in voices and Oasis Audio meets that need.

Katie takes the dog for a walk in her hometown of Portland meets someone and is never heard from again.  She is a 17 year old who was working as a Senate Page and now the manhunt is on.  Cassidy Shaw is the reporter who is tracking the case for the news, Allison Pierce is the Federal Prosecutor and Nicole Hedges is the FBI Special Agent assigned to the case.  Together these three women are the Triple Threat so named after a desert that they enjoy.  It takes the three of them, working together, to find out what happened, how it happened and who are the persons involved.

It is an injustice to say that Pam Turlow is the reader of this book.  Pam Turlow really is the actress who brings the characters to full life.  There are many characters and Ms. Turlow uses her voice to give unique voice to them all.  I would think that, for a woman, male voices would give her a problem; that is not the case.  Each of the three women have their own voice as well, especially Nicole with her Southern accent and it is a marvel that Ms. Turlow was not only able to remember each voice but switch so effortlessly between them.

This is an exciting book, extremely well paced and suspenseful.  I know when you hear this audiobook you will be like me eager to hear the next offering in the series.  I think because of the incredible vocal acting ability of Pam Turlow that it makes the story even more exciting.  This is the first book in the series but be of good cheer, there is another in the series and, of course, read by the remarkable Pam Turlow.
